I had a lot to be thankful for on Thanksgiving morning. On Oct. 13 at the Mill Bay shopping centre I fell over a curb, and did a face plant.
I was so grateful for the kindness of several people who helped me — getting napkins and wet towels for the bleeding. One woman is a dentist and wanted to see my teeth. Luckily there was nothing broken there or elsewhere. I was lying on the ground with my head on the curb, and someone put her jacket under my head. Another woman insisted on calling an ambulance, which came quite quickly.
The attendants were wonderful, and asked if I wanted go to the hospital. I declined, but they gave me much-needed tablets of Tylenol and Advil and an ice pack for a sore wrist. As I got out of the ambulance, a couple offered to drive me home! I live nearby, and was able to drive myself home. I am deeply thankful to each and every one of you fantastic folks who so swiftly and competently helped a lady in distress.
