The Cowichan Valley Capitals are bolstering their coaching staff with a local product. Thomas Webber, of Duncan, has been named an assistant coach for the upcoming BC Hockey League season.

"I'm grateful for the opportunity to join the Cowichan Valley Capitals as an assistant coach," Webber said. "My focus is on supporting the players and staff, helping our group reach its potential, and contributing to a successful season."

Webber brings a wealth of experience to the team, having grown up playing hockey with the Cowichan Valley Minor Hockey Association and later transitioning to coaching after his playing career.

Since2019, he has been the lead Instructor for Webber's Elite Hockey Development, where he helps players refine their skating skills during the summer months.

Webber will work alongside head coach Cam Keith and the rest of the Capitals staff. Training camp is just around the corner and the Capitals will kick off their preseason schedule on Sept. 6 against the Victoria Grizzlies at The Q Centre.
