It has been said that art is not what you see, but what you make others see.

Station Street Gallery owner Linda Roseneck continues to facilitate the beauty and wonder that art lovers can see in the creations of local artists as she slides into September with the gallery's Artist Social and Jazz night, which will be held on Sept. 4 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

While the monthly celebration of art will soon be switching up from Thursday evenings to Sunday afternoons, what won't be changing is the array of art that will be on display, complemented by the sweet sounds of live jazz music and an array of refreshments.

"Now that fall is approaching and the days are getting shorter and cooler, we will be moving back to a Sunday afternoon in October," said Roseneck.

Pastels, acrylics, glass, and metals; oh my!

Three female artists with three different art forms will be featured. Bev Herriott will be showing off her soft pastels, while Lauren Robb gives art enthusiasts a glance at her stained glass work and acrylic canvases and Brenda Isaak Takao will have the magic of her metal sculpture on display.

"Lauren is a budding new B.C. artist specializing in stained glass and abstract canvases, and Brenda specializes in large and small indoor/outdoor metal art," said Roseneck. "Hopefully the folks will see a complete difference in the gallery with its refreshing new look. We are expecting that we will get completely different crew of people on Thursday for another fun evening."
