Mission's Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" was named the 42nd greatest song of the century so far by Rolling Stone.

Mission pop star Carly Rae Jepsen's iconic hit "Call Me Maybe" made Rolling Stone's list of "The 250 Greatest Songs of the 21st Century So Far".

The list released earlier in October spans over 25 years of records, including chart-toppers from the eras of CDs to iPods to streaming.  Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" was ranked 42nd, sandwiched between fellow Canadians Drake at 43 and The Weeknd at 41.

Rolling Stone said Jepsen’s "sugar-rush hit and modern-day wedding-reception standard" helped kickstart an era of pop music "engineered to cater to TikTok dance trends and social media-driven pop virality that we’ve been living in for the past dozen years."

The magazine described the list as a wide-ranging mix of styles, beats, and voices.

"Some of these songs are universally beloved hits; others are influential cult classics. But this list sets out to capture the full chaotic glory of 21st-century music, one song at a time," the article reads.

Earlier this year, Jepsen announced she is teaming up with Lena Dunham for a musical adaptation of the 1999 film, 10 Things I Hate About You

The Juno-winner will co-write the music and lyrics for the production with former collaborator Ethan Gruska.
