What does Victoria have in common with Auckland, Stockholm, Hamburg and London? They are all stops on Old Dominion’s upcoming world tour, which will bring one of country music’s biggest bands to the provincial capital on May 6, 2025.
The Grammy-nominated quintet will take the stage at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre as part of the third leg of their world tour in support of Barbara, their sixth studio album released last month.
Joining them in Victoria will be Phil Vassar and Canadian country artist Sacha.
Old Dominion formed 18 years ago and has since become a dominant force in modern country.
The band has notched nine No. 1 singles at country radio, racked up more than five billion on-demand streams, and earned a dozen RIAA Platinum and Gold certifications.
Hits like One Man Band, Memory Lane, Break Up with Him, I Was on a Boat That Day and Make It Sweet have fuelled their rise.
The group, made up of frontman Matthew Ramsey, guitarist and vocalist Brad Tursi, keyboardist and guitarist Trevor Rosen, bassist Geoff Sprung and drummer Whit Sellers, are also the reigning eight-time Academy of Country Music and seven-time Country Music Association “Group of the Year.”
Between the two awards shows, no other act has claimed the title more often.
“We have had the time of our lives playing the hits and introducing Barbara across America this year,” Ramsey said in a statement. “Now it’s time to visit our friends abroad again. We can’t wait to get back to Australia, New Zealand and Canada to connect with the international Odies.”
Old Dominion will make nine Canadian stops, with Kelowna on Oct. 4 and Vancouver on Oct. 5 being the only other B.C. dates outside of Victoria.
Tickets for the Victoria show go on sale Sept. 19 at 10 a.m.
