Chemainus Health Care Auxiliary donates $15,000 to Tour de Rock

Auxiliary volunteers cheer on riders and present donation during annual cancer fundraiser stop

Chemainus Health Care Auxiliary volunteers joined the annual Tour de Rock stop in Chemainus on Sept. 29 to cheer on the riders and present a donation.

The group of local volunteers gathered to greet the Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock cycling team and their support crew at the Chemainus Legion where they shared a meal, conversation and encouragement before the team rode south along Chemainus Road on the next leg of their tour.

The Auxiliary presented a $15,000 donation to the Tour de Rock campaign. President Donna McCasky handed over the cheque and was presented with a plaque of appreciation.

McCasky credited the community with making the donation possible through ongoing support of the Chemainus Health Care Auxiliary Thrift Shop.
