Barenaked Ladies will perform at the Agassiz stop of the CPKC Holiday Train this year on Dec. 19.

A big name in the Canadian music scene will grace the stage during the Agassiz Holiday Train stop this year. 

The CPKC Holiday Train schedule just rolled out and The Barenaked Ladies have been announced as this year's headline act outside the Agassiz Agricultural Hall where the Holiday Train makes is stop, falling this year on Dec. 19 at about 5:45 p.m. 

The Barenaked Ladies' discography has spanned nearly four decades, selling more than 15 million records all over the world. Some of their best known hits include One Week, Pinch Me and If I had $1,000,000. The Barenaked Ladies and some of their past members have achieved a few viral videos in their time as well, featured on CBC Music during a World Music Day collaboration with astronaut Col. Chris Hadfield in I.S.S. (Is Somebody Singing), which has gone on to achieve 3.8 million views since 2013. In 2021, former Barenaked Ladies frontman Steven Page led a musical tribute to B.C. actor Ryan Reynolds called Canada Loves You Back. The video gained 4.2 million views on Reynolds' YouTube channel in a video called I'm Not Crying

The CPKC Holiday Train has rolled across continental North America every holiday season since 1999. CPKC has raised more than $26 million and collected more tha 5 million pounds of food for local food banks across the United States and Canada, including here in Agsasiz-Harrison.

The train makes a stop in Agassiz every year. In Canada, This year's CPKC Holiday Train starts in Montreal on Nov. 19 and will end in Gleichen, Alta. on Dec. 21.
