The 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. sailings from Victoria to Vancouver are expected to face delays.

The 3 p.m. Spirit of British Columbia sailing from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay on Wednesday, Oct. 8, was forced to turn back to Vancouver after a customer required medical attention.

As a result, the 5 p.m. ferry from Victoria to Vancouver has been delayed by an hour and 12 minutes and is currently listed as full. The 7 p.m. sailing from Swartz Bay is also full, while the 9 p.m. trip in the same direction had only 15 per cent of its estimated vehicle space available at 4:30 p.m. and is expected to experience delays.

BC Ferries is advising travellers to check current conditions for the most up-to-date information.

“We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience you may experience as a result of this delay,” BC Ferries said in a notification.

Sailings from Vancouver to Victoria are currently listed as unaffected by the delay.
