Ladysmith Arts’ upcoming member show, Textures, aims to peel back the layers of the visual experience. Running from Aug. 6 to 20 at the Ladysmith Gallery, the exhibit features work by local artists across a variety of media.
Part of Ladysmith Arts’ monthly member series, Textures showcases pieces created by artists who are members of the Arts Council of Ladysmith & District.
Working in paint, clay, fabric and mixed media, each piece invites you to explore how artists translate touch into sight. From the roughness of sculpted surfaces to the smoothness of painted canvas the works highlight how texture can create movement and evoke emotion.
“Join us for an immersive experience that celebrates the beauty of texture, where every brushstroke, fibre and detail tells a story you can almost feel,” Ladysmith Arts invited on its website.
The exhibit is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ladysmith Gallery, Unit 7–32 High Street. Admission is free.
