Taste of Mexico comes to Cowichan with BC crafted Sueños Artisan Tequila

Sueños which means dreams becomes a reality for valley residents and is now available in Duncan and Cobble Hill

Grab a lime, and enjoy some time with the taste of Mexico as B.C owned Sueños Artisan Tequila Arrives in the Cowichan Valley.

Taste the dream, as Sueños, which translantes to "dreams" in Spanish, is the passion project of entrepreneur and founder Gord Erickson who is based out of Salmon Arm. He had the vision to create a tequila that honours the heat and soul of Mexico while incorporating B.C.'s dedication to craft and quality.

“To see our dream land on shelves in communities like the Cowichan Valley is a massive milestone for us,” said Erickson. “We’re telling a ‘Northern Built, Southern Distilled’ story. It’s about bringing an authentic piece of Jalisco’s heritage to our home province, and we’re thrilled that residents can now share in that dream.”

Erickson who does not have a formal background in spirits didn't begin his Sueños journey in a boardroom, as it was a passion project that began years ago in the heart of Jalisco, Mexico driven by the vision to create a tequila that was not only true to its roots both soulful and traditional but also crafted with integrity. This dream of his is why Sueños is more than just a brand name but a calling as he immersed himself in every part of the process, from partnering with local farmers to overseeing the in-house agave cultivation, turning that initial passion into a full-fledged pursuit of crafting the perfect tequila.

Unlike mass-produced spirits, Sueños Blanco Tequila is crafted in small batches from 100 per cent estate-grown Blue Weber agave from the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. Erickson's brand emphasizes an artisanal, hands-on approach from the field to the bottle, with the result being a smooth and clean finish and a bright, complex profile of sweet agave, citrus, and fresh herbs offering up a premium taste without the premium price tag.

"What makes Sueños special is our commitment to authentic, artisanal methods from field to bottle," said Erickson. "We use 100 per cent estate-grown Blue Weber agave, which we cultivate ourselves—no outsourcing. The agave is slow-roasted and the tequila is distilled in small batches, which results in an incredibly smooth, clean finish with a vibrant mix of sweet agave, citrus, and subtle herbal notes. It’s an experience that feels handcrafted, because it is."

Sueños can now be found on shelves in the Cowichan Valley at Cobble Hill's Cobblestone Liquor Store as well as Voyage Liquor located at Beverly Corners in Duncan.

"Sueños has been rolling out across B.C., and we’re incredibly excited that it has just recently landed on the shelves in the Cowichan Valley," said Erickson. "It's a huge milestone for us to bring our dream to new communities."

It's a Canadian-owned dream, born in Jalisco, perfect for celebrating good times with good people."
