Sam Duerksen

Sam Duerksen

I joined Black Press Media in 2023 as Community Content Coordinator, contributing to both community feature stories and news reporting. Recently, I have also taken on the role as Editor for Tweed magazine, which has been a staple in Oak Bay for over a decade.

My pre-journalism career in Winnipeg included communications roles with Parks Canada and Red River College, where I served as Sustainability Coordinator before relocating to Victoria in 2020.

With a degree in film and extended education in journalism, sociology, and environmental studies, I bring a passion for storytelling, social issues and culture to my role.
