Saanich police are pleased with the response time to a robbery with an “edged weapon” on Monday (Oct. 6).
Officers were called to the 3700-block of Quadra Street just after 2 p.m. following a report that a man entered a business, produced an edged weapon and demanded money,” Saanich police said in a news release.
The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Officers located and arrested a suspect a few blocks away just after 2:30 p.m. without incident.
“Apprehending an armed robbery suspect in under 30 minutes is a testament to the skill and determination of our patrol officers. I’m proud and grateful for their outstanding work,” Deputy Chief Paul Douglas said.
The suspect was taken to cells and the incident remains under investigation.
