The likes of Elias Pettersson, Brock Boeser, and Quinn Hughes starred in front of an enthused Penticton crowd last weekend as the Vancouver Canucks brought their annual training camp to the city for the second year in a row.
Under the guidance of new head coach Adam Foote, the club skated at the South Okanagan Events Centre from Sept. 18 to 21. A scrimmage was held Saturday afternoon (Sept. 20).
Much of the conversation last week at Canucks camp surrounded a potential first line of Pettersson, Boeser, and Jake DeBrusk, goaltender Thatcher Demko looking to rebound from an injury-plagued 2024-2025 campaign, the addition of veteran winger Evander Kane, and captain Quinn Hughes entering camp without a contract extension with two years left on his current deal.
Photographer Jennifer Small captured all the action from the club's scrimmage on Saturday.
The Canucks' pre-season slate started Sunday in Seattle, with a 5-3 loss to the Kraken.
Vancouver has five more exhibition games (two against Calgary and Edmonton, and one more with Kraken) before it hosts the Flames for the season opener on Oct. 9.
