Photo Gallery: Family fun aplenty at another fantastic Cobble Hill Fair

Cobble Hill Fair celebrates 116 years of cool history, and community through several sights to be seen

The weather was more than fair, and the fair was a hot commodity, a really cool place to be and ahead by a century as it celebrated its 116th year in fine fashion.

Speaking of fine fashion it was a group of cows and their young owners that stole the show in cow-stumes from pirates to them cow-vered in waffles and maple syrup. The popular pancake breakfast was served from 7 to 10 a.m.

Speaking of sweets there were treats and concessions galore, not to mention the sweet sounds of the Pacific Edge Chorus, Jordan Matchett and Armless Chair Bijoux du Bayou, Canadian Jewels and Pony Club.

While the sun beat down, there were little ones beating some of the Kerry Park Islanders in hockey. It was all fun and games in the Kids Zone as well as some impressive young volunteers who have come out year after year to run one of the games.

There were tons of tractors for those who are kids at heart, crane rides for a bird's eye view of all the fun, and members from the Vancouver Island Blacksmiths turning up the heat. The day also featured many vendors and eye catching tents to peruse.

And of course, one could try their boot flinging skills in the fair's famous Welly Wanging event.

Nothing is more heartwarming for animal lovers than all the farm animals one gets to see from cute chicks, to cows, goats, alpacas, as well as miniature donkeys and horses some of whom celebrated their first fair.

It was a day of family, fair food, face painting and fun and festivities. All made possible by the vital volunteers and every other person who showed up to lend a hand.
