Transit cops arrested "one of Canada's most wanted fugitives" in the Lower Mainland Tuesday (Oct. 14).
Pierry Philogène was wanted on a warrant for first-degree murder for the alleged premeditated murder of Charles-Olivier Boucher Savard on Dec. 22, 2021. He was one of five suspects still wanted by the Montreal Police Service (SPVM) and the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) as part of the joint Alliance investigation.
A June 12 news release from the Montréal Police Service and Sûreté du Québec announced the arrest of 11 suspects in a major joint organized crime investigation called Alliance. Police said the investigation aimed to solve several murders homicides linked to organized crime that happened in Montréal and elsewhere in the province.
Officers from the Metro Vancouver Transit Police crime suppression team learned of Pierry Philogène's location on Tuesday evening (Oct. 14).
"Following a short foot chase, he was arrested with the assistance from Vancouver Police," noted a news release from Metro Vancouver Transit Police. He is currently in police custody and will be repatriated to Montreal to face the murder charges, Montreal Police said.
Metro Vancouver Transit Police told Black Press that Philogène was arrested in Vancouver, while Montreal police are reporting he was arrested in Surrey.
Upon his arrest, police found a fake ID. Philogène has since been charged with obstructing a peace officer and possession of identity documents without lawful excuse.
“Through the proactive work of our Crime Suppression Team, we are proud to have taken a wanted fugitive off of the streets. Transit Police is committed not just to safety on and around the transit system, but that of the greater community as well,” said Transit Police media relations officer, Const. Amanda Steed.
On Oct. 8, 2025, he was listed by the BOLO program as one of Canada's 25 most wanted.
The four remaining suspects wanted by police in Quebec are Sacha Krolik, 57; Mario Sollecito, 54; Gianpietro Tiberio, 52; and Jean-Ismel Zéphir, 49.
