UPDATED, Sept. 3:
Vancouver police say a man wanted Canada-wide on several firearms charges is back in custody.
Police shared the information Wednesday, Sept. 3 after first issuing the news release Aug. 21 that Penh “Chad” You was wanted Canada-wide.
He was charged on March 21 with possess a firearm without a licence, contravene regulation of the Firearms Act, possession of an unauthorized firearm, possession at unauthorized place, prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition and fail to report lost or stolen firearm.
Police say an investigating in You began in April 2023 after the Vancouver Police Department received a report that a man had threatened a woman during a verbal dispute. Police add that You allegedly made several other threatening statements during the incident.
The release said that police searched multiple residences linked to You, and as a result, 11 firearms and thousands of rounds of ammunition were seized.
