Multiple charges have been approved for a man who stole two vehicles and assaulted a woman with a weapon in Prince George on Tuesday, Oct. 7.

In the early afternoon, Prince George RCMP located a stolen vehicle near the 2100-block of Norwood Street. However, the vehicle fled the scene. Instead of chasing after the vehicle, officers conducted patrols in the area.

Then, at around 1:40 p.m., the RCMP were made aware of a man wearing a ski mask who arrived at a gas station located at the 8000 block of the Hart Highway, driving a vehicle that matched the description of the previously stolen vehicle. The man approached a female and assaulted her with a weapon. As a result, the man stole the woman's vehicle, driving away.

Members of Prince George RCMP were able to quickly locate the suspect after he fled the gas station, arresting him.

"Fortunately, the victim was not seriously injured," said Prince George RCMP media relations officer Const. Jenna Moore. "The suspect will remain in custody until his next court appearance."

The following charges have been approved as a result of the incidents for the suspect, 20-year-old Scott William Jacob Teece:

  • Theft of a motor vehicle (two counts);
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000;
  • Flight from police;
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle;
  • Robbery (two counts);
  • Assault with a weapon;
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

"Investigators would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed these events or who may have cell phone video or dash camera footage of the robbery or who has video surveillance from around the 8000-block of the Hart Highway," stated the Prince George RCMP press release.

Anyone with any information or video footage can call the Prince George RCMP at the non-emergency line at 250-561-3300 with the file number #2025-33529.
