The Chemainus Valley Historical Society’s Flappers and Fedoras, Mocktails & Melodies fundraiser brought in just over $3,000 for the Chemainus Valley Museum.

Held Sept. 19, the 1920s-themed evening drew a strong turnout from the community, with guests dressing in period attire and enjoying live music, games, mocktails and finger foods.

Organizers credited both attendees and local businesses for the event’s success. Funds raised will help the museum enhance its digital archives and preserve the stories of the Chemainus Valley for future generations.

"We are truly grateful for the incredible generosity of our community and local businesses," said Ron Waller, president. "This support enables us to continue sharing our story with visitors of all ages. To every individual who attended, donated, and volunteered, and to our wonderful sponsors, we offer our sincerest thanks."

Special recognition went to Jodie Greis and the Classic Car Club, whose period vehicles and great costumes were the bees knees, and to volunteer photographer Rod Gilbertson.
