Cyclist in critical condition after being hit on Campbell River's Jubilee Parkway

At around 4 p.m.on Oct. 4, Campbell River RCMP responded to a report of a cyclist struck on Jubilee Parkway, just west of Dogwood Street.

A 37-year-old cyclist from Campbell River was taken to the hospital in critical condition after being hit by an SUV on Jubilee Parkway.

At around 4 p.m.on Oct. 4, Campbell River RCMP responded to a report of a cyclist struck on Jubilee Parkway, just west of Dogwood Street.

Initial accounts indicate that an SUV heading eastbound on Jubilee Parkway struck the cyclist after the cyclist unexpectedly veered out into the roadway, said Const. Maury Tyre of the Campbell River RCMP. The driver of the SUV remained on scene and is cooperating with the police investigation. 

The incident remains under investigation by the Campbell River RCMP with help from BC Highway Patrol Collision Analysts, Tyre said.
