Bottle depot fire being investigated by Prince George RCMP

The Nechako Bottle Depot in Prince George burned down on Sunday morning, Sept. 28. Fire crews and the RCMP are investigating the matter.

A fire that broke out early Sunday morning (Sept. 28) in Prince George is being investigated.

Around 5 a.m., the Prince George Fire Rescue Crews (PGFRC) responded to a fully-involved structure fire at the Nechako Bottle Depot, located at 1922 First Avenue.

“We continue to gather information on the cause of the fire and are asking that the businesses in the area check their video surveillance to see if there is any movement caught around the Bottle Depot between 4:30 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. the morning of the fire," said Prince George media relations officer Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

PGFRC and the RCMP are investigating the matter together. No injuries were reported as a result of the blaze.

Anyone that was in the area and witnessed what happened or has video surveillance, dash camera footage or cell phone video that captured the fire beginning are asked to contact the Prince George RCMP non-emergency line at 250-561-3300.
