Two arenas, three undefeated teams, 20 games and hundreds of young hockey talents are set to invade the Fraser Valley for the 2025 BCHL Showcase event.

One of the league's signature events, which draws in scouts from all over North America, runs from Sunday (Oct. 12) to Thursday (Oct. 16).

The Abbotsford Centre hosts the four daily games from Sunday to Tuesday (Oct. 14) and Thursday, with the Chilliwack Coliseum welcoming the competition on Wednesday (Oct. 15).

The 2025-26 BCHL schedule opened on Sept. 19 and all 20 teams have played at least five games as of Oct. 9. The Trail Smoke Eaters (6-0-0-0), the Coquitlam Express (5-0-0-0) and the Sherwood Park Crusaders (5-0-0-0) are the lone teams to not yet taste defeat.

Coquitlam takes on the Vernon Vipers in the 7 p.m. slot on Sunday and then challenges the Blackfalds Bulldogs at 1 p.m. on Monday (Oct. 13). Trail plays the Nanaimo Clippers at 10 a.m. on Monday and then battle the Alberni Valley Bulldogs at 10 a.m. on Thursday. Sherwood Park is matched up against the Prince George Spruce Kings at 7 p.m. on Tuesday and then take on the Langley Rivermen at 10 a.m. on Thursday.

The Chilliwack Chiefs, coming off of a finalist appearance in the BCHL Rogers Cup, are off to a 1-5-0-0 start and have scored just 13 goals in six games. The Chiefs open the Showcase against the Okotoks Oilers at 10 a.m. on Sunday and then close out the event against the Spruce Grove Saints at 7 p.m. on Thursday. Both of the Chiefs games at the Showcase occur in Abbotsford.

Here are five players to watch over the five days of the Showcase:

Joseph Sinclair – Sherwood Park Crusaders: Sinclair was named the first star of the BCHL for September and the forward sits second in league scoring with 11 points in five games. The Bowling Green State University commit has already recorded four multi-point games.

Tai Ushio – Prince George Spruce Kings: The Japanese product has 10 points in five games and ranks third in league scoring. Ushio is a University of Alaska Fairbanks commit and also suited up for his home country earlier this year at the IIHF Asia Championship.

Nolan Dupont – Coquitlam Express: Dupont has recorded nine points in five games and also has four multi-point games this season. He is the older brother of Everett Silvertips defenceman Landon Dupont, who was the seventh player to be granted exceptional status by the Canadian Hockey League and is expected to be a top pick in 2027.

Ryder Shea – Alberni Valley Bulldogs: The University of Maine commit goalie has a sparkling .934 save percentage and 2.22 goals against average in four appearances this season.

Erik Pastro – Trail Smoke Eaters: Pastro is on pace for his most productive BCHL season ever and has posted nine points in six games. The Vernon product also starred for the Okanagan Rockets program before joining the BCHL.

This marks the second consecutive year that Abbotsford and Chilliwack have hosted the event. The 2024 edition of the Showcase saw more of a split with Abbotsford hosting 11 games and Chilliwack hosting 10.

"After the success of last year’s Showcase event, we are happy to be back in the Fraser Valley for the second year in a row,” said Connor Ewert, Events Manager for the BCHL. “Hosting in Abbotsford and Chilliwack gives our players the opportunity to play in a professional setting, while also providing scouts with a comfortable and convenient viewing experience. We look forward to engaging with the local communities and making this year’s event another success.”

Tickets are still available for all days of the event. For more information on the Showcase visit bchl.ca/bchl-announces-details-for-2025-showcase-event-in-abbotsford-and-chilliwack.
