Eight years after he was reported missing, the investigation into Campbell River teen Jordan Holling's disappearance is still ongoing.
Holling was 17 years old when he disappeared on Oct. 16, 2017. The last sighting of him was at 2 a.m., close to Highway 19 in Campbellton, after he left a friend’s house on 16th Ave. in Campbell River to walk to his nearby home.
According to the RCMP, the missing person investigation remains active until the person is found. When tips are received, they are followed up on and investigated, said Const. Maury Tyre, with the Campbell River RCMP.
"Unfortunately, the information received thus far has not allowed us to locate Jordan," Tyre said.
His mother, Andrea Wiley, thanked the public for keeping people aware that her son is still missing.
His best friend, Sayde Coffill, said she and Holling were hanging out at a friend's house the night he went missing. They had been friends since they were 14.
"He's still missing, and anything could help," Coffill said. "Rumours are going around that he has been found, and that's not right."
Coffill added that October is also the anniversary of the disappearance of Kelly McLeod, who was 51 at the time of his disappearance. He was last seen in Campbell River on or around Oct. 3, 2019.
Anyone with information about the disappearance of Holling should contact the police directly, which helps maintain the integrity of the investigation and respects the personal boundaries of his family.
